Week to Week, But Hopeful to Play Against Bears: Jayden Daniels Injury Update

In the first quarter against Carolina, Jayden Daniels explodes for a run of 47 yards. During the tackle, Daniels is rolled up and flipped over but gets up and seems to be rubbing the left side of his chest around his rib cage.

A few plays later, Daniels scrambles to the left and goes down gingerly, only to get up and now holding his side of his chest as if the ribs were bothering him.

The medical staff took him into the tent to see the extent of the Jayden Daniel's injuries and to rule out any broken ribs.

As a precaution, Daniels headed to the locker room for further evaluation only to come back to the field not in pads which meant he was out for the remainder of the game.

Today Daniels went through some more tests and was ruled week to week by Head Coach Dan Quinn at the advice of his medical staff. Quinn did state, "We are hopeful he will play against Chicago but we will have to see how he feels, and how the rest of the week goes". A fairly vague blanket statement without a timeline for the rookie.

Either way, fans have seen this before with RGIII and rushing his knee injury status. Because Jayden Daniels is a more polished player than RGIII was at the same time in their career, it has to be noted that fans need to see the proper measures taken to avoid Daniels being brought back too soon and not fully healthy.

We'll bring you more updates as the week goes on.
